Death as a tool

We don’t talk about death much, likely because people think it’s morbid. Death can be more than a touchy subject, it can motivate and separate the unimportant from the important. Ryan Holiday from DailyStoic.com reminded me of this. Each night as he puts his kids to bed he reminds himself that this kiss good night could be the last. This may sound terrible from one aspect, though from another, how annoyed can you be that they want one more bedtime story knowing that it may be the last? I hope to remind myself of my own mortality to allow me to sail through the ups and downs that inevitably occur in life.
